People who worked at DIDWW brought in their own phones, and their parents’ phones, because they cared about the history of this industry. Neighbours and residents of Šiauliai brought theirs. Over seven years it became a museum — held by a public institution, open to everyone. On 27 July 2026 it was offered to commercial buyers as „unikalią ir privačią eksponatų kolekciją“: a unique and private collection.

What the owner has put in: one euro
The institution’s filed balance sheet for 2025 records the participants’ capital — everything its owner has contributed to it — as €1. If it were wound up, its owner could recover no more than that.

The documents are public and free. The institution’s annual accounts, and the notes that must record anything received as a donation, are published by the Register of Legal Entities under entity code 305196456. We are asking reporters to obtain them and publish what they say — including anything that contradicts us.
We accuse nobody of anything, and we draw no conclusion. We are asking one question. These telephones were given so that a city would have a museum. Before they change hands, the people who gave them are entitled to know what is being sold, and to whom.

We allege no illegality, we make no claim about anyone’s motives, and we will correct anything shown to be wrong.
